Rotonda West Story
Rotonda West was originally part of a large cattle ranch owned by the Vanderbilt brothers, William and Alfred. They purchased the land in 1952 and sold a portion in 1969, which became Rotonda West.
The combination of well-planned infrastructure, community amenities, and natural attractions has solidified Rotonda West's reputation as a desirable place to live and play.
There are seven subdivisions: Oakland Hills, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Broadmoor, Long Meadow, White Marsh, and Pine Valley. One undeveloped segment located at the southwest segment, which was to be called Saint Andrews, but due to wetlands conservation efforts, was not established.
The community has three main roads—Parade Circle, Rotonda Circle, and Boundary Boulevard, which connect it to the surrounding neighborhoods. In addition to its natural beauty, Rotonda West is conveniently located near the Gulf coast, offering residents easy access to stunning beaches and coastal activities.
The five golf courses are Pine Moor, The Palms, The Hills, The Links, and the Long Marsh, offering 27 holes to play integrated into the White Marsh and Pine Valley subdivisions, while the others offer 18. featuring a playground, tennis courts, and a walking path.
Furthermore, the area is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, with several preserves and natural areas that provide habitat for several bird species and other wildlife. The community's commitment to environmental sustainability is reflected in its careful management of wetlands and green spaces, ensuring that Rotonda West remains a picturesque and ecologically balanced locale.
